The woman previously known as the D-C Madam hanged herself on her mother's Florida property Thursday. Deborah Jean Palfrey was recently convicted of running a high-end prostitution ring for some of Washington's elite politicians and businessmen. The 52-year-old was also found guilty of money laundering, racketeering and mail fraud. The D-C Madam would have faced a maximum 55-year prison term as determined at the upcoming July 24th sentencing, but Palfrey was quoted more than once saying that she would not let herself go to federal prison. In fact, she told a writer that was helping her put together a book about the escort scandal that she would commit suicide before returning to jail. Before her death, the D-C Madam argued that her business was a legal escort service and that the government pressed forward with charges simply because she is a woman. Over the past year, a few high-ranking Washington officials have been directly linked to Palfrey's prostitution ring and some have even resigned from office. Palfrey had threatened to come forward with more officials using her business' services. Investigations on the Madam's death are being completed by the county sheriff's office and the FBI.

A 30-year-old political secret regarding an affair with a U-S senator is spilled to the public. Not only did Barbara Walters report the scandal on Tuesday's airing of Oprah, but the journalist tells all the details as she was 'the other woman'. Walters spoke about her relationship with U-S Senator Edward Brooke, the first African-American to receive the popular election to the Senate. Walters said she and the then moderate east-coast Republican chose to keep their several-year-long affair in the 1970s a complete secret as public knowledge would ruin both of their careers. Walters recounts Brooke as 'exciting' and 'brilliant', saying she was infatuated when asked if she was in love. The Washington affair was leaked to the public for the first-time as Walters promoted her new memoir, 'Audition' on the Oprah Winfrey show.

Dana Ward you seem like a smart blond woman but when you talk about DC Madam killing her self you look foolish. DC Madam was murders by government officials, on many talk shows she went on to say that she will NOT kill her self and that she wants to go to court to expose these people and that it ran on high government officials. In fact she said if I'm dead know that I was murdered. Open your eyes Blondy!!!

She was murdered. Get the daily doesnt "get the corruption". In any case, the filthy politiciians came out of this unscathed as usual. I feel horrible for her mother that found the dead body. What incredible sorrow in her elderly last days.

No kidding, huh. Why would anybody watch this drivel when FOX NEWS is doing a better job than this? No mention that one of the DC Madam's escorts also allegedly killed herself by hanging. Women don't generally kill themselves and when they do it's done with pills not hanging. I've known at least 10 people that have killed themselves. Only one from hanging. And of course 9 out of 10 were young men...

More mainstream bs on Debra Jean. For the real story on the D.C. Madam visit infowars. com. She would've gotten a couple years at most. She served 18 months before. She is on record numerous times saying she wouldn't commit suicide. The "reporter" saying she said she would kill herself is also the main guy that says Sirhan Sirhan was the lone shooter in front of RFK when the fatal shot came from behind. She did not and I repeat DID NOT COMMIT SUICIDE. She was suicided.
