Jump For Life is a new initiative at Children's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado to promote regular physical activity in children by providing jump ropes, activity loggers and instructional DVDs at each well-child visit for ages 6-12 years old. Jump For Life aspires to improve child health and well being. U.S. children and youth are more sedentary than ever. The health benefits of regular physical activity include improved cardiovascular function, weight reduction, blood pressure management, improved self-esteem and decreased rates of depression and anxiety. Jump roping is a safe and versatile physical activity that can be done alone or in groups, inside or out, all year round. JUMP FOR LIFE!
