Kottke described the instrumental as "A medley made up of a children's song [Playmate] and my two favourite songs when I was a kid [Jambalaya and Tumbling Tumbleweeds].

  • God how I love this song! BTW, it's San Antonio Rose, not Tumbling Tumbleweeds.

  • @fbrown172 lol!!! Thank you for your comment, but I'm afraid you do not realize that #1). I am a musician born 'n' bred in San Antone, and that's where I am right now (unfortunately, with all this heat and no rain for many, many months!) So I know San Antonio Rose very intimately, since I have played it with several country bands, as well as Tumbling Tumbleweeds; and #2). Leo Kottke explains this song, and I'm sorry but I forgot where I read where HE says what songs these are. It's Tumbleweeds!!

  • @rockdrumr429 Actually, on thre liner notes, he writes "my two favorite songs when I was a kid" ..He never mentioned the names, so that's your own addition.

  • Is this the song 'The arms of Mary' in the version of Leo on one of his records ? Can someone put this on youtube please ?

I love it so much I'dlike the studioversion, if available .. ? Many thanks,

    simon Belgium
