Eclipse of Jupiter's satellite Europa by the shadow of Ganymede, on 2009 July 28 at 18hrs UT. Maximum eclipse occurred at 18h 3m. The video runs at 16X normal speed. There are two short periods of cloud in the 2nd half. The video ends with a graphic showing the measured light curve. On the video, the eclipsing moon (Ganymede) is the left-most moon; the moon that is eclipsed (Europa) is just to the right of Ganymede; and the moon close to Jupiter is Io.

  • What are the two anomalies in the light-curve (3/4 into the curve) that both Ganymede and Europa have? Are those due to atmospheric - or som other form of disturbances? Nice video!
