Hi Saggitarius Star. Modosteady is not that affordable but is good for light cameras. I believe that for best result, the Merlin Steadycam is the best and wise investment.

hey you did a superb test and demo there for us all. It s not that bad actually. i think you are getting decent results but its good that you are a perfectionist and seriuosly critical. After all its not that cheap. Have you got used to it yet and how do you rate it now? It definately looks superior to hand held, thats one thing for sure. Again, brilliant footage and test. well done and thanks

How can you compare a Merlin Steadicam to a Modosteady? Merlin = 850USD, ModoSteady = 100USD? It's not really a fair comparison... Does it work at least OK?

400 bucks? WOW! It's only around $100 now and I don't even think it's worth that. It's all b/c of the way the handle mounts. It sticks too much. Sounds like you'd agree.

I've seen some test shots of people using the Modo and none of them look good as Steadycams. I looked at the Hague test shots and they all looked smooth and nice, giving that "gliding" feel. I got the Hague and it actually gives that gliding feel. I don't regret it because the video results are nice. However, I think it was a little too expensive for what it is. The shoulder brace thing looks nice, though, for the Modo... I could maybe use that. I feel sorry for people who paid $200 for the Modo
