  • lol Sanjuro Tsubaki

  • I love this movie.

  • @ImSeeFly thanks

  • @lordon18 You can find it on the criterion collection

  • @candorist This is Sanjuro, sequel to Yojimbo

  • @candorist No, this is "Sanjuro" (1962), a sequel to Yojimbo (1961). ;-)

  • And this tale very much reminds me of the Viking feuds and fights in the Edda: A limited scenery and ordinary people facing a common problem, like corruption and abuse of power; even the mastery of the sword is highly creditable as in ancient times a seasoned, brave warrior in good practice was superior to many opponents – very unlike the boring shooting movies of the dull-brained Americans! Shame that this method of movie making did not prevails on the globe.

  • Monsieur Kurosawa is indeed much more than merely the greatest movie director that ever lived in the tide of times! I do rank him almost as high as the composers of the great epics like the Iliad, Pharsalia, the Song of the Nibelungs and the Edda! Though the influence of Zen-Buddhism does cast some darkness and decadence upon his works with its negative perception of humanity and life; and I am always stunned that the camera takes part in the tale as an observer, who is not marked.

  • @GaijinChi i don't see how buying the movie is a form of respect towards the late director. a comment on youtube stating Sanjuro is my absolute favourite movie might be more respectful (note: not favourite -samurai- movie nor chanbara, favourite movie full-stop). i don't consider it the best movie i've ever seen, but i've never liked a movie so much. also, sorry for replying to a 3 month old comment

  • @excelx213

Dont be a scab, BUY IT !! Amazon & play all sell Kurosawa movies. Respect a mastermind director by buying his films, not downloading them
