It has been six years since US troops attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan and although Afghans have seen some improvements such as lower infant mortality rates, the security situation in tribal areas has proved hard to overcome.
Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher has been on patrol with the US army in Kunar province east of Afghanistan and sent this report.

  • This is the first Al Jazeera I have read.

Seemed to be fairly open and honest without any propaganda for either side.

    Not bad.

Comments by the readers here are, as usual, mindless drivel.

  • My brother SFC. Matthew Blaskowski was the soldier shot in this video. It is kinda weird being able to see this but it is also kind of encouraging knowing that everybody was close enough to Matt to care for him.
