Why are you associating toxicity with Atheism?

Id pretty much say your views on Atheism a.k.a. something different from you, is toxic in itself.

Didn't mean to do that particularly, I consider someone spouting off about damnation and hell pretty toxic.

But, I don't know, You subscribe to TheAmazingAtheist and Pat Condell; you tell me.

I personally have nothing on atheism, in some respect some people would even consider me an atheist; but those are two really toxic people.

The toxicity isn't the fact someone has a disbelief in god, but there are just some really toxic people that promote themselves as atheists.

People of this sort, while critisizing you, will tell you other negative comments other people have made about you. If someone says something good about you, ( and often times they do, which these toxic people do not like ), they will not tell you what was said. But they will make sure that any and all negative comments about you will reach you.

Positive people can also be contagious. So that you warned about toxic people? Is that warning also not toxic in itself? How would you purpose on helping those who are reasonably in constant contact with toxic people? It can be draining or debilitating without a strong enough support network in one's life to counter the effects of constant exposure to negative people. I have been in and out of being toxic. But I feel it's not feasible for many to avoid the contamination of toxic people but fight

i grew up in VARIOUS churches and attended [mostly against my will] for 11 years... all christian pastors talk about NOWADAYS, and the only message that they spread to people, is a message of repression, insecurity, and scripture-based submission. I think people should believe in the power of self, because we're all part of one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. but, FUCKING LISTEN, don't mention anything about religion & corporate rule [lies & fact, respectively]

Very good points! I feel that the reason people are negative is that their inability to overcome their own low self-esteem, defaults to expressions of condescending to others who appear to achieve what they cannot; and therefore, attempt to cut them down to their size, so to speak.
