Read the book and saw this version, poor Fanny Robin.

I dont think she left him, she was upset at getting the wrong church service on the day and troy was mad and said he wouldnt go through that again and she got scared and upset then left, but troy shouldnt have left her uncertain of things at the church yard.

@OurManInMarrakessh In Chapter 16 'All Saints and All Souls', Troy goes to All Saints church to meet and marry Fanny Robin. Fanny confuses the two church names and waits for him in All Souls, across the square. After half an hour Troy finds her outside in distress. He calls her a fool and tells her, "I don't go through that experience again for some time, I warrant you!", and then walks away from her.

@need2bloved32 - In the book its not very clear on that, they make plans for the wedding (Bans at church etc) then the following chapter just comes back to the farm at Weatherbury, no mention of confusion in Fanny going to the wrong church.
Troy was in the wrong though as he abandoned Fanny, just dont remember reading about Fanny going to the wrong church in the book.

It’s wonderful that you’ve made this, there’s so little love for the adaptations and book on youtube. I just adore that clip 2: 49 – 2: 58 when Gabriel tries to tidy himself up, so sweet :)

have always called it "Far From the Maddening Crowd" and no matter what anyone says, I will continue to do so.
