  • hi , some months ago i left a comment about your old cambridge . have you managed to restore her yet? it would be interesting to see what you have done . please can you put up some more videos ? thankyou

  • did you ever manage to renovate the car ? as the wings looked very bad . a great pity as it's british car history at it's best . i remember being bought a corgi toy model of one of these way back in my childhood . i seem to remember them doing a car stunt on blue peter with one . something called the destruction squad , they drove it throurgh the side of a thames trader furniture wagon . they put someone else in the car and dubbed peter purves voice over . he never actually did the stunt !

  • if it's that rotten it would be much too dangerous to race it . a friend of mine i used to do banger racing with, years ago. took a 1961 series singer gazelle to race at long eaton . it was so rotten , that the pit scrutes would'nt allow him to race it !

  • @neilincov I have a pair of rear inner fenders for your car (inside the boot) no rust Cheers

  • put the old girl out of her misery, strip it out, give her a lick of paint and go banger it.

  • Those rear wings are a bugger to repair. They are bolt ons but have a complex pattern moulded into them. The front wings are easy to repair. In fact the whole car is quite a good project as everything is accessible once the wings are removed. I taught myself to do some good clean welding on my car. Anyone know if VLN 411 is still around? I sold it to a chap from Carlisle.

  • Mind how much you spend on this project. I did a full restoration of one of these back in the 90's. I only got £1500 for it. They're lovely cars with character and old 50's smell but not worth much unfortunately.

  • Good luck on this project... I hope to see video of it in great shape in the future...
