Time lapse of the NASA TV feed of the rendezvous and berthing of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA) automated H-II Transfer Vehicle-1 (HTV-1) to the Node 2 module ("Harmony") by the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) or "robotic arm" aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on September 17, 2009.
The video is preceded by two NASA computer animations. The first depicts the HTV being captured by the SSRMS, and the second shows the HTV being berthed to the nadir port of Node 2 ("Harmony").
The HTV is carrying 5 tons of cargo in two sections of the spacecraft - one pressurized and one unpressurized. The unpressurized section is accessible by the SSRMS for the removal and stowage of cargo aboard the ISS.
This video portion is at approximately 30 times actual speed. Some video clips have been rotated 180 degrees for clarity of orientation. There is no audio track.
So cool
