Thanks.I have a MM RP65 - ss pre,valve power.Also pretty good with effects.
Also have a JCM 800 Lead 50 (4104?) - doesnt do clean!
I generally stick to my Twin amp for everything.Cheers.

@geckobaldy The jc120 is all about a good soild state clean but, I was not using the right speakers to get a better dirt tone. Would I chose a JC for dirt? No. However, there are some pedals that can help to a degree, if all you have is a JC. Another amp that has a good soild state clean is the old musicman amps and also an old lab amp does the SS thing really well. I also had a dean markely and tried for years to get a rich dirt tone out of it but ended up buying an JCM800.
