@joopschilp Christie didn't say "de Mondonville". His french pronounciation is clearly perfect. It's a joke (people laught after he says his sentence). The word ends with a "-villay", and "de Mondonville" is pronounced like "vil" (begining of the word Vilain for exemple in english)
I searched, and it's Charpentier "Flores O Gallia" :)

Why doesn't someone like Mssr. Christie start a "Charpentier Project"? Just like when Harnoncourt-Leonhardt recorded all of Bach's cantatas? And also, how about something in the way of a "Charpentier Gesellschaft" where all of his works would be published and made available to the rest of us? So little of his music is published in good modern Urtext editions and so very little has actually been recorded. Thanks for this video!

Anyone knows the title of this piece?
Thanks

@matthieu06 Bill says it himself, seems "De Mondonville"...

@joopschilp
It's not from Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville.
This is a piece of Marc-Antoine Charpentier : Flores o Gallia (H 342)

@matthieu06 So Bill Christie is wrong when he announces the next piece, 'De Mondonville' he says clearly

@matthieu06 U r completly right !! I added a link to Charpentier's Flores o Gallia in the infoblock above. .
What Bill says is '....pentier....en l'honneur de Ste Therese, evidemment de 'la villa...??? Sounds indeed like de Mondonville, which has nothing to do with it.... Thanks once more, I'm no expert either on De Mondonville or Charpentier, but I like Bill and what's he doing for 'rediscovering'this superb music!
