Gloria Griffin takes the lead on this number. The 1950s technology prevented the group from performing a song in the studio as they would live in concert, limiting much of their emotion. I imagine Gloria would have extended this song, perhaps to 10 minutes long at a live program. You can hear her trying to get loose toward the end, especially when she starts repeating the phrase "shouting". One can just imagine the congregations being wrecked by this song in a live performance.
