@Jiltedin2007 Actually, I have the Bloodhorse magazine from Affirmed's death. He died in 2001, not to be a "know it all." sorry.

I was in love with Steve Cauthen when I was 13! Aww thank goodness for youtube...seeing these old footages of the races brought back sooo many good memories. :)

@rodd7 Sham was a good horse but he, nor any other horse, could have touched Secretariat in 1973 even if Santa Anita held a Triple Crown race.

Out with the old in with the NEW. WE NEED A TRIPLE CROWN RACE IN THE WEST COAST. I say do away with the Preakness and move the middle leg to SANTA ANITA. East coast horses always have AN EDGE. Hello everyone, Home Field Advantage. Sham could not adjust to the Air Pressure, Temperature, Humidity and most Importantly JET LAG. Sham would have annilated secretariat at Santa Anita; Just the way J.O. Tobin devoured seattle slew at Hollywood Park. Something to think about.. AFFIRMED # 1 FOREVER
