We learn best from one another. For individuals who have recently experienced a brain injury, hearing and learning from the experiences of other survivors can be a life saver. At the Victoria Brain Injury Society we value the expertise of survivors and encourage them to share their experiences with peers - their stories can be sources of inspiration and hope to others who are trying to adapt to their brain injury.
Survivor Stories are a collection of the personal stories our members have chosen to share with the world. These are stories of trial and error, of strength and perseverance, of hope and renewal.
These stories demonstrate how through their own personal strength, and with support from family and friends, survivors have been able to accept and adapt to their brain injury. These stories are a celebration of how far they have come on their journey.
Hi Wendy... this is a tough road I am a survivor of brain injury and disabilities going back now 14 years. The process of acceptance is one of the many lessons we learn. I lost my family as well. Come Visit me on my website. You as you know may feel alone sometimes but in truth we are friends who understand this huge life challenge. Love and Kindness. Deborah
