Instead of roving to hills or craters, NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander will claw down into the icy soil of the Red Planet's northern plains. The robot will investigate whether frozen water near the Martian surface might periodically melt enough to sustain a livable environment for microbes. To accomplish that and other key goals, Phoenix will carry a set of advanced research tools never before used on Mars. Learn more at www.nasa.gov/phoenix.

  • What percentage of the federal budget do you believe is spent on exploration?

  • FAKE!!! they have a picture of the pheonix landing on Mars from OUTSIDE the pheonix.

  • Of course this is fake. This is a preview of the mission. Geez.

  • im talking about the one on TV. It just "landed" a few minutes ago.

  • Yeah for Earth... The best thing about robotics is the gender, race and geographic indifference. Odd how we can create such a marvel and successfully send it millions of miles away, yet still be faced with racism, hunger and homelessness?

  • just wait till we drop a bomb over your house...just because we are 100% sure that you are hiding a nuclear cream pie weapon!

  • It is the LIS Jupiter 2 sound effect!!!!

  • @hukt0nf0nikz 2 wrongs does not feed the poor. Nasa and the US military are very wasteful and quite foolish. The whole world could be fed on those mishandled, ridiculous budgets.

  • @terry820 nasa 2011 budget 14 billion, us military budget 600 billion, the numbers speak for them selves

  • Waste? Fools?

The only fools are those who don't understand the importance of exploration.

  • The NASA use to this proyect 475 millions dollars

  • just moved new area

    SOMEONE TALK TO ME LI

  • If its real then why do they have a "picture" from outside the pheonix after it was set up. and im not talking about the simulations. Im talking about the picture that was constantly showed behind one of the techs while he was talking about the pheonix.
