A day out in: Würzburg

I visited the historic city of Würzburg (stopping on the way at Veitshöchheim for ice-cream) to admire the old fortress and the gall of modern architects.

The city is testament to the wealth and political power of the Church in times gone by; for centuries Würzburg was ruled by a Prince-Bishop, and this period has left its indelible mark.

Incidentally, after WWII, the plan was to leave Würzburg desolate, a huge "ghost city" as a reminder of the war. This plan was rejected, and the city rebuilt.

so i live in würzburg for long time... and im sorry that you are right pointing to the architecture horror mix in our street, bur it is still the most beautiful city i ever lived in :)

Zell am Main has the best icecream, it`s on the other side of the river. It`s not as cheap as in Veitshöchheim, but very delicious and just a few steps from my home. I think I`m one of their best customers ; )

Würzburg is worldwide famous for it's living prophetess of the Lord: a woman named Gabriele. It is said that she recives revelations from Christ and God about reincarnation, inner path, animals right for life etc. These revelations sometimes are given into public at the seat of the primordial christian community Universelles Leben in Haugering 7 street, near the train station.
