Flashback: Keith Olbermann on the Surge!

On his radio program tonight, John Gibson went back to examine Keith Olbermann's many comments about the Iraq troop surge.

Fox has no answer to Olbermann's arguments, so they have to make attacks on his credibility and distract from those arguments. They can't even say his name. Bunch of lying cowards.

You are an idiot. How could Olbermann be vindicated? All evidence to the contrary! The point is, as always, when Olbermann is dead wrong, he'll never admit it. I'm not sure what evidence you would need to believe that the surge has been sucessful? I wish we hadn't gone into this war - but I'm also glad we didn't run away when Olbermann wanted us to. I'm sure you love his passion. I just wish he had the ability display SHAME. As he is one of the most shameful windbags on American TV.

It is not only the right but the responsibility of every citizen of this country, sportscasters or otherwise, to sit in judgment of the President, ESPECIALLY in something as serious as the decision to go to war. Wake up!

the surge did fail. Mclellan a staunch supporter of bush acknowledges that Bush relied on propaghanda for the war and was ill advised. Olberman if anything has been vindicated.

Furthermore, even with the lull in violence, the stated purpose of the "surge", that is to allow political progress, has failed miserably.

And get some better material that saying Olbermann is a sportscaster. Ad hominem attacks, while funny, don't do much to refute arguments.

Oh John Gibson... you are the king of the logical fallacy. Just because there's a lull in violence does not mean that the "surge" is responsible for it. In fact, the reasons are numerous, the paying of the Anbar Sunnis, the infighting within militias and the Turkish aggression have had more impact than the 30,000 additional troops.

I don't get it, the surge is working now? So when can we expect the US troops to withdraw?

Can someone actually link me the NYT article? I can't seem to find anything that doesn't suggest Iraq/Bagdad to be a hellhole.
