Maybe if that Trans Am was talking shit, this would be a hilarious video. Otherwise, it's not. You're going to race a modified MR2 (they can be pretty quick, I'm not gonna lie) against a stock (most likely) Trans Am that makes 320 HP give or take a few. If this was intended to be a fair race, instead of a personal jab at import-vs-muscle cars, then this is just ridiculous at best.

I suggest you do what real race video people do and post specs...

It's a 300zx. But for next to nothing i got 400-460rwhp depending on what gas i use and what boost. You cannot do that as cheaply with an Ls1. Sure the Ls1 will eventually make more power but you'd need a fat wallet.

@jabba12000 and let me guess its a subaru or 300zx. yeah if its already set up for a turbo u can put a bigger turbo, but turbos are just as expensive plus u have so much other lil things u have to do in order to make it run right. V8s are the easiest to work on and build period. u can take a stock 350 slide the cam out change it for how ever much u wanna spend and find some high flow heads that are cheap and run a 75-100 shot of now and make yay more than the 4 or 6cyl. a 350 almost has 300stock

Its not that easy. If a car comes stock turboed it can be made fast eas by turning up the boost or buying bigger turbos. To turbo a v8 that was meant to be n/a is very costly. You not only have to buy and install turbos but to use the turbo to its potential you'd have to build the internals to support boost. On a poor man's budget many smaller boosted engines are a better deal than a v8. I have a 3L twin turbo v6 that makes 400+rwhp on stock turbos and injectors.

There isn't any proof that mr2's r better if u ask me the ls1 has a whole lot more potential than a mr2 supra what ever it may b an the reason I think that is because u can't make up for displacement v-8's have the advantage cause that was a n/a trans-am vs a car with a bunch of boost force feed a v-8 an its gonna rape that import trash

I love the caps in the vid assuming the v8 would naturally pull a turbo 4. I just ran an sw6 with my 3rd gen swapped '91 mr2 and from about 25mph roll pulled him about untill 65 -70 then he crep past and stayed about a nose ahead up to 100 then we both had to back off. My boost is only set at 12psi, if I decatted and went up 18psi I'd pull him for sure.
