@dallasdrummer Did you just stop cold turkey? Cuz you're not supposed to do that. I've been on it for 6 months... I told my doctor I feel like my sex drive isn't what it should be for a 22 year old.. So I just dropped down to 10 today

I was on 10mg of citalopram because of anxiety/tension headaches for about 6 months when my doctor suggested coming off because I had greatly improved. She said to cut the dose in half for 2 weeks (5mg) and then I can come off completely. I'm about 8 or 9 days in and I kind of feel crappy, but it's not terrible. For the past week I've been fatigued with a headache and some aches and chills. It just feels like I have a cold...which very well could be the case. The worst part for me thus far is

I feel very lucky then .. the only side effect I ever had with Citalopram was having those extremely vivid nightmare .. nothing else. I had them for the first week when I started taking it, and a week after I stopped taking it. It was a bit annoying, but nothing major ..

I don't know if it's normal but it took me a little over a month to not feel any of the withdrawal symptoms anymore. I will never suggest this drug to anyone -.-

@Killinemdead1 yah your obviously a nutcase. ive been on it for 9 months. i love it never had any problems . anxiety was worse at first then was gone. my life is back and i love it. stop scareing people. people this is an example of a fruit loop. i had bad anxiety slight depression and its gone. stay on it youll feel great. lol tryedto kill myself get off youtube and go to the looney bin
All in all, the withdrawals from Paxil were 100 times worse, so you'll do fine whichever route. Don't take advice from ANY Person about you and this medication, it is a good medication, just know your body on this issue and discuss it with your primary health care clinician.

Look I'll be realistic with everyone, if you truly feel that you need this medication then by all means take it as prescribed. However if you no longer want to take it then discontinue. Somebody told me that I shouldn't have stopped cold turkey, well I did, and I'm fine , you're still on it. Also I'm a nurse so I know better than most about this medication, as far as I'm concerned nobody (not even a physician) can give medical advice on this subject over a video comment. I was taking 40mg daily

my brother killed himself after starting celexa then after he died my doctor put me on celexa and i tried to kill myself

@Killinemdead1 Wow, I don't know if the drug would be the main cause for that though, a lot of us try celexa and have many different results, it depends on your body's chemistry with this formula while others probably benefit better with another medication or no medications at all and instead focus on herbal remedies and/or psychotherapy/counseling. I wish the best of hope for you.

Did you ever feel kind of drunk when you were coming down, but still able to function like you were sober? That's what I'm experiencing
