A most beautiful song at the end of a great movie. I love the original with John Wayne. How could a body not? Not many remakes move me but this one did. Yes, I cried like a baby when I heard Iris sing this. It reminded me of my Grandmother singing this so long ago. I miss you MeMe.

what you hear is southern gospel and can be heard in most any southern small town primitive or missionary baptist church's evening service. mind you, you wont hear this in the first baptist church of anywhere

i too was an atheist until i became an ethnomusicologist. i had been a university philosopher and currently study as an anthropologist. but it was my intense passion for sacred folk music as well as political struggle and justice that made me realize that there is a spiritual dimension to these areas. satanism is organized and prolific among elite political secret societies as well as thru out all the mafia that runs the pop music industry (and hollywood). it's voodoo, it's scary, its true.

When I think of all-and I mean ALL-the elements that went into the rendition of this song, I can't over the how "Intelligent Design" can be disregarded, either here or cosmologically.

when I heard this in True Grit, I also pictured Huck Finn walking off into the sunset with a shotgun on one arm and a sack in the other as he heads into Indian Territory
