Probotector MD (Contra Hard Corps) - Boss Run - Part 6

First off: I made a rather large error in the previous videos. They are not routes A and B, but rather routes C and D. THIS is the true route A. And the second worst ending you can get.

Route C (A) and D (B) are the shortest routes in the game, so there won't be many battles in this or the next part.
They make up for the lack of substance for being hard. Er. XD

The stage itself is brutal, but the mini-bosses, as you can clearly see, are pathetic. (The third only has 1 attack that can warrent being called "hard to doge".)

Still, easy minibosses aside, the stage ends with two mothers of boss fights.

The unpredicable nature of the first form of the final boss, and the general "take up most of the screen" second form, meant this was by far the hardest final boss ive fought so far. It took alot of practice runs just to get the patterns down.

Fun fact: The "Alien Mother" is the only boss in the game to use that music.
And i've never known the game to be so generous on lives. I earnt 5 in this stage alone. O_o

Am I the only one who thinks this is possibly the best technical looking Megadrive game ever? I meant, it manages to trump Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier on technical trickery. Thats impressive. Who knew the Megadrive was capable of "Mode 7" effects? XD

Just one route left, and if I recall correctly, the downright hardest boss of the game is coming up in the next part... oooh boy...

Mode 7 is a formula for layering and scaling sprites, Nintendo marketed it as a console feature but any 16bit or above console can do it.

He does that, but he had taken so much damage so quickly in this encounter that he went straight to his final form.
