What's with the All Aboard the Heart Attack Express part?
ThomasRivette 2 years ago
@ThomasRivette: First, the engineer might be getting a heart attack judging by the way he's leaning on the horn. Second, the fact I was actually THAT close to the train holding the camera. Does it make sense?

amazing angles. HOWEVER, you really shoudnt go that close to the tracks. You could have set up the camcorder that close to the tracks but you really shoudnt be stanging that close.

To achieve the angles, risks must be taken, I'm a poor man, and my camcorder was old - I don't own a tripod either. Besides, an AMTRAK Cascades commuter train and a freight train had passed by earlier, and I captured angles on those like this with no problems. I wasn't concerned about getting hit by the train itself, but more concerned about getting hit by steam exhaust.
The angle was worth it.

the shot is a mazing however, but geeze!
the engineer is the one who will have a heart attack,...or your mother if she saw this!

I knew where the limits of the track were, I'm familiar with railroading and I kept at least two feet away from the railroad ties (the wooden logs that support the tracks) to avoid getting hit by anything that could have been sticking out - but I wasn't that concerned since I kept myself lined up with the railroad platform shown in the video - this was a few yards south of Kent Station.
