Christianity and business aren't compatible. Christianity preaches for self-sacrifice. Business is about self-interest. A successful business man who works with christian standards is impossible. During his job he must go by reason, not by faith, to make his profit not others. You don't believe me? Would you honestly put your money into a bank whose CEO is mother Theresa. If the answer is no, you have some reason left in you. If the answer is yes, you have no brain.

To hold one of the faiths, you have to believe that a nameless spirit-entity, without a physical brain, suddenly had the need to “think” into existence a material universe of unfathomable complexity and danger, solely to place for testing, on a precarious planet, procreating beings of many imperfections. To each of these beings he assigns an individual soul, which, without physical connection, dwells within its host during life, then “lives” on for eternity.
You are joking, surely?

@99minerkc you are absolutely spot on.ALL of these pastors that you have named are what we refer to as Word of Faith ministries. They are NOT serving the same God as John Piper! They say they are, but they are NOT, they are serving Satan! These ministries are so prominant because they prey on people who need something (healing & finances mostly) and then require them to give money to the minstry in order to get the "blessings" they need. The minstry is rich and can afford TV air time! Hypocrites!

John Piper is truly in right with the Lord.

Maybe Mr. Piper should be informing business men/women like like Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Kenneth Copland and his wife, Paul Crouch, Kenneth Hagin, Pat Robertson, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, etc, etc. Theses people CLEARLY run tax free businesses in the name of god, yet do anyone of them truly glorify your god? I don't see it!!

Wow, that is serious truth. I had been draining to my then-girlfriend because Christ was not my priority. But now He is!
Seek to do your work, in such a way that Christ looks more important than your work. Seek to make and use money in such a way that Christ looks more important than money.
