  • Boy, man. You should read some of that stuff he's written about immigration. He doesn't sound xenophobic at all. Or maybe you just took it seriously when he was saying tongue-in-cheek.

  • ha ha he makes valid historical points

  • What a great thing to have Tom Wolfe introduce O'Rourke? Wolfe speaks wonderfully until 11:10

  • God Bless PJ O'Rourke. He is right on target.

  • @prebenso Hes Libertarian, but way to get it completely wrong.

  • @1xirsx1 you are deluded about your country's effectiveness in sharing the wealth your educations system is not open to all unless you have money. You have spoil t the unions so you dont even get a fair share of the wealth you contribute to produce. It is the American dream and you have to be asleep to believe it.

  • @prebenso It worked for Cuba, USSR, etc.. oh wait no it didn't.

The US does have a wealth distribution system. It's called the market. Offer your skills and labor in the market, wealth gets distributed to you. The more you have to offer the more you get. Everyone has access to tools to improve themselves and get more.

    Free will > slavery.

  • He has got his head up his ass. his ideas would only work in a feudal system. In a society with 300 mill people you have to have some form of wealth distribution for the system to work or he would have no income himself. The fact that he can

throw a punch line doesn't make him right - only right winged, and they tend to fly in circles.

  • I don't agree with everything the man says (especially his 'light' treatment of the Republicans - goodness knows that there is no 'two party' system but just 'one big ol' Statist party system in place)...

... but I LOVE his candor, his humor and satire. We NEED more P.J. O'Rourke's in this world!

Even as an atheist - I think his point about the Tenth Commandment is telling ...

  • O'Rourke and Wolfe's views make middle-aged members of the teacher's union cry.

  • "old National Lampoon... humorist" is redundant. What else would someone who wrote for a 1970s mag be, but old at this point?
