@frenchtoast4014 gerbils are actually very socialbe creatures, and when introduced correctly get along wonderfully and make excellent companions. Gerbils will only fight to the death if it is an unfamiliar gerbil.

@loganW915 No, gerbils do not smell bad at all. I have had both gerbils and hampsters. The gerbils seemed to drink less causing them to pee less and that really cut down on the smell. I think I only changed their bedding once a month and sometimes went longer between cleanings when using "oder control" bedding. Hampsters tend to be more stinky and need to have their bedding changed more often.
