OLTL Retro Open

This OLTL open I created combines elements of both the 84-92 era (cast member pics, appearing one at a time) with the 68-75 theme providing the musical backdrop. The cast members seen in the open are also from the 68-75 period: Nat Polen (Dr. Jim Craig), Ellen Holly (Carla Gray), Anthony Ponzini (Vinnie Wolek), Michael Storm (Larry Wolek), Lee Patterson (Joe Riley) and Erika Slezak (Viki Lord).

Ellen Holly is my girl!

I recently purchased the One Life To Live Special Farewell Issue and discovered the character of Carla and her portrayer Ellen Holly and read about how important she was in bringing in the ratings that cemented OLTL as one the premier soaps ever. It is a shame that Ms. Holly was treated so terribly especially since her casting, acting, and beauty were so vital to the show. The network should not have erased those beginning episodes and she should be thought of in the same breath as Viki/Niki.

No, but in 1995, they did an excellent flashback with Robin Strasser portraying Dorian witholding his medication. It was powerful.

Here's some more info for you. Dixie Carter (ex-Brandy Henderson, EON) was a temporary recast in the role in 1974. After Robin left OLTL in 1987, Elaine Princi took over the role for four years before Robin came back in 1993.

No problem! I know Claire Malis played Dorian briefly from 1978-79 before Strasser took over the role. I think there was one other actress who played Dorian as well. I'll have to check.

Thank you "rfshober" for the information!  Now you have me wondering this...What other actressess before Nancy Pikerton played "Dorian" on OLTL? Or was Nancy Pinkerton "Dorian" since the beginning? :-)
