  • @deearedub The recording environment has an echo or delay of 1 to 2 seconds so the monophonic choir (these voices are singing in unison on the same pitch) appears to be overlapping the previous note. Your ears do not lie, there is an overlap, but still there is no explicit harmony intended. Had this been polyphonic we would hear two or more pitches being released at the same time, add the echo, and wow, a very rich harmony indeed.

  • Curious that this is titled with Benedictine Monks yet the image of the church interior has the cross of Saint Francis of Assisi aka the Franciscan cross. Perhaps the recording is Benedictine Monks but the producers only had a picture of a Franciscan church?

  • @DustyAndPistolPete i would agree that music can serve as a worthy way to celebrate belief and it certainly helps people contemplate. the smells were originally used to disguise the smell of the parishoners.the buildings i believe propogated the wealth of the church. and was essentially about greed and served no purpose, especially where parishoners were suffering extreme poverty.

  • @123jsbach ??? The buildings, music and smells are all representations of the faith.

  • i like this video. aggiechandrasmith

  • Discussurus...is that a dinosaur?

  • Dies iræ! Dies illa

    Solvet sæclum in favilla:

    Teste David cum Sibylla

Quantus tremor est futurus, Quando iudex est venturus, Cuncta stricte discussurus!

  • this is the exact kind of music i am looking for its haunting but beautiful at the same time i love it

  • Beautiful

  • Look at the cross and it's like the picture is moving.
