Don't forget about the percussion and bass - it doesn't get any better than Joy Division.

its hard to find the bands where the bas is important , what im talking in joy division everything is important :)

snare? you talking about the 2 sounds at the start of the drum beat? cause according to the tabs, its a closed hat
although, as you probably know, in the movie closer, the sound was made by spraying an aerosol can into the mic in the recording studio, which ended up causing the guy who did it to get dizzy

i mean that great echo snare, which stops when he begins to sing the first lines.unfortunatly i just watched "24h partypeople", not yet closer.

To sebastianity89, you have to see "Closer", it gives a good insight into Ian's epilepsy, which of course this song is about. Barney comes across as a good mate to Ian, but Hooky less so. (I'll leave it at that.) Also you see the problems he was having with his marriage in some detail ...OMG...The bit at the end where Debbie (his wife) finds Ian dead is quite heavy.

So many of those guys are dead now...Martin Hannett, Rob Gretton, Tony Wilson, and John Peel.
