The clips are from Granada's 'The Program' presented by Tony Wilson as featured on the December 1995 Personal Computer World cover disc. From them you can see what the PC and Mac industy was like some 15+ years ago. If you'd like a copy of the interactive CD, or have information on the TV show the disc was made from I'd love to hear from you!
Introducing by mentioning the computer was invented in Manchester in the United Kingdom they fly out to the USA to report on some major companies in the industry. They start at the Happy Software Company in California with Kai Krause and John Wilczak and features Kai's Power Tools and KPT Bryce. Moving on to Apple in Cupertino with Frank Casanova the manager of Advanced Technology Evangelism and features Quicktime VR, The Company Store, Quickdraw 3D and Text to Voice. After we see Electronic Arts the worlds biggest games company with John Manley which features Jungle Strike from the Desert Strike series and Toughman. And finally Microsoft with Bill Gates as Chairman and Pierre de Vries as Future Technology Manager which features the Microsoft Home of the Future at Microsoft Place where we see what was then advanced technology integrated into things like television sets and wall panels.
I loved the apps from Kai Krause and metatools. Never understand what went wrong with the company. Their software was really brilliant and when I think of it i hate todays software (photoshop crap like stuff) even more...
