On September 15, Hyundai Hope on Wheels visited the University of Alabama, Birmingham's Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Children's Hospital. We presented a $100,000 Hope Grant which will provide funding for the expansion of three childhood cancer programs: The UAB Pediatric Developmental Therapeutics Program, the UAB Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program, and the Hope and Cope Psychosocial Support Program. In addition to the hospital's Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Mr. Coke Mathews, we were lucky to be joined by cancer survivor Sarah Ferguson. Sarah, now in college, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma as a teenager. Sarah spoke movingly about her experiences undergoing treatment at UAB. Sarah spoke about the importance of successful survivorship programs and the support they bring to children who are in treatment.
Hi! The last I was there in 1992 when where I graduated from UAB and then Portland State University (Oregon) in dual degree program with Electrical Engineering in 1993 (PDX). I am happy to watch you today on youtube. Hope all is well in there. However, I would be rude in asking whether this state has come up above the prejudice and some racism (people and faculty as well) that we had experienced then or as an experienced electrical engineer (PSU) we won't be allowed to progress but deliver 4 goo
