Israeli soldiers say killing of civilians 'allowed' - 19 March 09

Israel's army is accused of war crimes after more than 1,300 Palestinians were killed in the war on Gaza.

In interviews published by a leading Israeli newspaper, Israeli soldiers say killing Palestinian civilians and destroying their homes was allowed in Israels rules of engagement during the war.

Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros reports from Jerusalem.

@lovecraftis1 There were around 550,000 Arabs West of the Jordan river in 1924 less than half that in 1874 Most of the Arabs you describe as Palestinian are Arabs from other parts of the Arab world with no connection to the area until the 20th century The land belongs to the Jews not only by historical right but by international law. The Arabs are treated well in Israel, only their own irredentism leads them to harm.

@starcatcher2222 What's really hysterical is Israel's constant instance that they're the "good Guy" in these situations. The fact that the Palestinians were on the land before Israel arrived (don't give me the same old bs about how the land belongs to the jews because they once lived there centuries ago because that doesn't hold water at all) & Israel has treated them like scum says an awful lot about Israel. FYI this has nothing whatsoever to do with what the nazis did to the jews during WW2.
