Struggling as usual to make ends meet, our favorite space cowboys hope to nab some of the unusually high number of bounties that have been posted recently.

That is, except for Faye Valentine, who decides she would rather go hunting for a famous space pirate's hidden treasure instead. Faye leaves the Bebop and crosses paths with an inexperienced bounty hunter named Kent, who unknowingly possesses what may be the most significant clue to the treasure's location...

Meanwhile, Kent's hotheaded partner (and twin sister) Bianca butts heads with Spike as they pursue the same bounty. But after drawing the attention of a disgruntled ex-cop with an intense dislike of bounty hunters, Spike and Bianca find themselves reluctantly teaming up in order to survive.

COWBOY BEBOP: THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME is a feature-length "lost episode" adapted from the PlayStation 2 videogame "Cowboy Bebop: Serenade of Recollection" which was released in Japan in 2005. A US release was planned but ultimately cancelled. The game features voicework by the show's original cast and three new songs composed by Yoko Kanno ("Diamonds", "Pearls" and "Einstein Groovin'", all performed by Ilaria Graziano).

  • They had Tank in the beginning so where's The Real Folk Blues? :(

  • It doesn't appear in the game, so I didn't use it here. The ending theme, titled "Einstein Groovin'", was composed by Yoko Kanno specifically for the game.

  • Thanks for translating/posting this! I got all the story (with the REAL voice actors) without having to suffer a seemingly mediocre game.

  • The game is really not bad.

Of course, the game wasn't so great when I had to play through each action sequence used in "Song" at least half-a-dozen times to get enough good footage for editing. The last fight with Ronald was compiled from almost two dozen takes. But the end result was worth it.

  • Fair enough. I am a big fan of beat'em ups and being able to play as the old crew would be a treat.

The only thing that seems to be lacking in this game is screen time for Ed and Ein, which is kind of sad. I do love me some E&E action.

  • Though she's not in the cutscenes much, Ed has a big presence in the game. During gameplay, she pops up in a video box to give you hints and warnings. But that didn't fit the "movie" feel I was going for, so I didn't use those parts.

Beating the game unlocks a brief mission where you play as Ed & Ein in a sidestory to the main plot. Ed tries to make a song to impress Steve with, while Ein searches for a gift to impress Ellen's dog, Ann. But again, it didn't fit the "movie" so it was left out.

  • @LukeMM95 it takes place before edward left, speaking of edward this guy left out the bonus missions for the game with edward and ein

  • I came here wanting more Bebop and after this I want even more. This was Awesome, excellent writing for a video game adaption. One thing I wondered though, when does this all take place? After the last episode? Or is it somewhere inbetween the 26 sessions like 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'?

  • Pretty nice, yet another enjoyable Cowboy Bepop episode to watch through.

  • cool

  • thanks that was cool

  • Thanks a lot for this. A shame it doesn't have so much views. Deserves way more for your hard work!

  • Great sub sokodei! I always wanted this game to get a North American release and was really saddened that it got canceled at the last second. Thanks for the upload! Any chance of doing more JAP Game Fansubs? If so, might I suggest "Yakuza:KENZAN" (Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan)?
