@NiggaYouth no stranger than a "negro" choir worshipping a jewish man.
Hogan's music is great no matter who sings it. I mean unless they suck, but this is pretty good, especially since they successfully jump the cultural barrier that you are alluding to.

Yeah the time signature is 4/4 but any conductor worth his salt would beat 2 beats per measure because of the lyrical nature of the song.

You see? Even the Chinese praise Judah by singing his songs!

@6Voices we more used to seeing Japanese choirs singing spirituals... It's nice to know this is a Chinese choir since the description didn't specify...

i think there's a nice full sound. if i hadn't seen this video and jus was listening to them i couldn't tell their race and that's a very good thing. it means you're able to sing all genres of songs and cross the stereotypical racial barrier when it comes to singing.

audience is same all over the world. at least when it comes to this song

@yukikoforevernoise i totally agree. the soprano has a very clear voice.

is it just me, or does a CHINESE choir singing a NEGRO spiritual seem strange.
other than that, the sang good, only the piano could have been loulder. The soslist sang beautifully.Good Job!

I agree about the 4 beats thing, but I applaud the director on when you need to be quiet and loud in that song. Many directors don't bother with that. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. And the foreign tongue did really make a difference and I was really was impressed of how well you did. AWESOME!!

Better than the others that i heard!!!

sang this song in Florida's All-State choir around 6 years ago... good times, impressed that a Japanese choir has the vowels sounding decent. Can't beat Moses Hogan.

Hi, but we are a Chinese choir, not Japanese. Thank you for the comment.
