John Fort's Peachtree Stable's Plum Pretty fought off a late charge by St. John's River to win the May 6 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) by a neck. Zazu rallied for third in the 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-old fillies under the Twin Spires of Churchill Downs

  • Medaglia d'Oro does it again

  • NAILED THIS ONE!. When it is a filly and her sire is Medaglia D'Oro you know your gonna get a great one every couple years. Yes R Heat Lightning would have changed complexion of the race a lot, but she would have still had to deal with Plum in the lane, and Plum can run all day. She is only gonna get better, and handle going longer as she grows.

  • @Jean0987654321 I guess NBC decided not to renew Tom Durkin's contract.

  • collmus FTW

  • U GO GIRL GREAT GREAT GREAT RIDE By ROSIE

  • An exciting race to watch. But I personally felt that this year's Kentucky Oaks was a very weak renewal of the race. As will the Kentucky Derby be also. Would've been nice if R Heat Lightning hadn't had to pull out of the race, and it would've been nice to see Turbulent Descent show up as well. Being that they're the 2 best 3yr.old fillies in America, IMO.

  • This was yet another exciting rendition of the Kentucky Oaks, always enjoy watching this one. IMO, these fillies are just as talented, and some may be more talented than their male counterparts running tomorrow. This field was every bit as competitive as tomorrow's Derby field

  • Her Sunland Park Oaks victory opened my eyes to her, that really wowed me, and this emulated that, although she didn't win by 25 lengths, but impressed me just as much if not more. She's really improving with every race, and coming into her own. She keeps this up, she's going to make some noise the remainder of the year. So confident even with that 13 bearing down on her, she knew she had it. On top of that her name suits her well, she's a beautiful filly. Definitely one of my current favorites.

  • Wow, what about St John's River!? She had a rough start but really came on at the end, I love late closers!!
