This video is my very first group production which was for O.C.E. class project. Original production. One evening to research, three lunch breaks and one evening to film, a whole day and night to produce.

The video topic is anti-racism. although Hong Kong is known as an international city, racism is one of many serious and deep rooted racial problems. Different race are called racist names and which is quite common. Some people may have already got used to it but some still find it offensive. Not only South Asians, even mainlanders are being discriminate against by HK(Chinese) people.

Although some certain anti racism regulation was formed in Hong Kong couple years ago, the racism has only been slightly reduced. In my opinion, education would be far more effective than punishment. If the perspective or conception of Hong Kong people of different race can be changed, non-HK people who are living here would feel more like home and be treated equally.
Till then, Hong Kong will truely become an INTERNATIONAL CITY.

A little of my own perspective on non-Chinese race people:
I go to an international church named KIBC localed in Kowloon Tong Hong Kong where there are some other nations and many non-HK-borned Chinese. We worship together, plan together, eat together, hang out together... and do so many stuff together. We got to know more about each other and I found they are all the same despite their skin tones. They are all awesome people. I love learning more about their cultures and lifestyles and of course FOOD most particularly. Whenever I am in KIBC, I truely feel like living in an international and civilized city.

  • I'm mixed race of French and Chinese but I look completely European aparently, so everyone assumed I couldn't speak Chinese, so everyone called me a "ghost girl"

  • @waterhugbunny hahaha Gwei Mui isn't a very bad name although it may sound a bit rude to call a girl ghost. they don't normally look down on 'Gwei Lo Gwei Chai Gwei Mui gwei Po..' hahaha.

  • Nice video, I've been to Hong Kong and damn a lot of people are racist! But it's a great place though, it's just that, they don't like anybody that's not HongKongese there. Even in Disneyland where people should be friendly, they were like damn, those people were mean

  • Thanks for sharing this interesting project. I just put a comment on about the "MTR incident" on goingfreePERIODinfo articles section.

  • @yt3456100 There are many Chinese people all over the world who are speaking many different languages, English included. Its so hypocritical that you hate Chinese people because they are judgmental and racist but you in fact are doing the exact same thing by judging a population of about a billion people when you have only been exposed to this video and a small group of Chinese people around you and claiming to be racist to them.

  • @lovelybones0

seriously? The Chinese are the most judgemental people I know. And they refuse to speak English and they are horribly racist. I don't appreciate the names they have for certain people. As far as I am concerned, they can all go fuck themselves and I will do everything I can to be as racist as possible to them.

  • @yt3456100 It is unfair to say all Chinese people as 'fuckers', 'spitters' etc. The Chinese people you see are only a small subset of the entire population and may not even be from HK at all. There are people from every race that can be rude or disrespectful. By saying you are going to be racist to HK people is not stopping the problem but further reinforcing it. And Hong Kong is the most sanitized city, everything communal such as buttons, elevators etc get sanitized once every 2 hrs

  • Wow, these COMMUNISTS are so racist! What ever should I do to teach them a lesson? I know, I'll discriminate against them!

    You guys are silly.

  • I live in HK-a Westerner from UK, most if not Filipino's crash into me waiting for me to look at them-I don't do dwarfs, they look at western men as cash machines-f@@king whores!

I love Asian people, Mainlander Chinese are really nice people, I work in China and have spent many hours with honest loving people.

What people forget is that we all come from different cultures, we need to understand them and maybe we all can accept each others differences.

But on a closing note for all Filipino I

  • Mainland locusts can kill any country, any city.

Mainland Locusts = commie Mainland Chinese immigrants.

  • you forgot one:

jap = japanese in a rude manner
