  • Colin James's "Five Long Years" would also be fitting i think

  • @vandamme514 ...for me as kid in the 80's it Star Wars and the Edmonton Oilers which makes this vid so damn nostalgic..would be cool to see another using "Still The One" by Orleans or "Just Keeps Getting Better Everyday" by the Jitters..two songs the team switched over to by 87 and 88

  • THANK YOU!!! for uploading that vid ..LOVED it...more a few candid pics i've never seen before..love the one with Coleman and Messier also the one at :52 with Gretz, Fuhr and Moog..i'm a long time Oiler fan(since 82/83) from NS (Hab and Leaf country mostly lol) lived those yrs and never forget them especially 87 and 90 when the dynasty stuck back (which makes that music so fitting yrs later..you should another one featuring "Still The One" or "Better Everyday" by the Jitters that team used in 88

  • Great posting. The pics to that music is awesome. I like the way you put Rod Phillips in there. Northlands exploding when a goal was scored and they played this music, that was my youth. Thanks!

  • Owner Peter Pocklington's face is covered up in the team photos...

  • This song was on Billboard charts and made it to 18 for two weeks in October 1980. A guilty pleasure of mine.

  • @0:16 that contract signing was the start of it all. Getting Gretzky on a personal services contract to Pocklington meant that Gretzky circumvented the draft and stayed in Edmonton. Lots of things to be critical of with Pocklington, but he brought Gretzky to Edmonton and found a way to make sure he stayed here when the Oilers jumped to the NHL. For that he deserves a ton of praise.

  • Awesome! Great quality without the record clicks & pops! Easily the best sounding one on youtube. :) Great job posting this and awesome clips and memories of the Oilers!!

  • Thank you for posting this!!!! I loved this song...goose bumps whenever the Oilers scored a goal when I was a kid!!!!!
