  • A shetland sheepdog is the best dog ind the world, and I love this breed so much :)

I have a shelite and his ears are standing up, and I was wondering if you could be so kind making a video of how you cut your dogs ears because they looks so pretty.

I can not find any other videos who shows i properly.

I hope you can help me:)

  • @NannaD1989 what do you mean? I will hlep you out.

  • We had a sheltie that looked just like this one.

His name was Cottonball Barkley Boomer.

    aka. Barkley,

we had to put him down a month ago due to Heart Failure.

    It was tragic for us.

He was apart of our family.

  • @sparklesparkleglitz I'm sorry to hear that, how old was he? Was there any symptoms before that showed the heart failure ?

  • Jeez, this makes me wanna cry :( my 4 year old sheltie, casey died from a brain tumor about 4 years ago :,(

Looks exactly like her :) Such good dogs (My current one though is a llliiitttllle energetic

  • @xvxpivotxvx you got a new one :) how old is he now?

  • We had to put my Sheltie down Monday. She lived to be 15, and I grew up with her. It was very hard. It helps to watch videos of Shelties to bring back memories of the experiences I had with her.

  • My mom and I use bubble gum :) Just chew it up a bit, and then put some on the tips of their ears. It comes off pretty easily after it's been there a while, and we've never had any problems with other dogs taking it off.

  • @NannaD1989 Actually, to get a Sheltie's ears like that, they are usually glued down when they are puppies, not cut.

  • My sheltie has the folded ears naturally, but she's also a mix so that might be a big part of why that is. Love her though!

  • i had my sweet Dudlee for 8 years before he died suddenly from a siezure i miss him so much he was a oversized male sheltie I said he was a "condo collie" lol

  • @NannaD1989 You don´t cut them, you have to go to the vet, he will give you a paste that you put on the tip of the ears. The weight of the paste will pull the ears down, after a while they´ll stay there an paste won´t be required any more. I dont know about shwlties, but on colies the ears should be 2/3 up and the final 1/3 down, take that in mind when correcting the ears ( if you really want to correct them that is, ears full up are also acceptable).

  • What a cutie!

As for the ear tipping thing, my mom always uses bubble gum. Just chew it till it's soft, then roll a little bit between your fingers till it's sticky. Press it on the tip and there you go! It's worked for her for years, and it comes of fairly easily.

  • Geogous -3

  • Shelties....well God looked around and said "I think I'll make a dog that pleases me ? That's it...Shelties were created...Thank You God !!

  • She looks a little like my late Sheltie, Allie. She was a great dog, passed away at 14, three years ago.
