I think he was joking mandolin. Glynchandeliers- europeans taxonomers made the same mistakes and many of there common names have stuck too. The french common name for the firecrest is still the 'triple banded wren'. FACT!

Try not to be so arrogant! The guillemot is not the American Bald eagle rather the closely related White-tailed eagle -- a different species! So you made the same mistake!

Try not to make the same mistake again. Most of the names that you in the states have for animals were taken with the first settlers from Europe and in the absence of familiar species the names were applied to animals that wre similar in some way but not always related. Incidently, the bird that you call the bald eagle is called the guillemot over here.

Thanks, I had discovered my mistake already. Luckily I have a European bird guide. Great video of beautiful bird. In North America sparrow hawks are American Kestrels. Thus my error.

this sparrow hawk loves doves too!
Sorry folks, this is not a sparrow hawk. It's either a Cooper's or Sharp-Shinned Hawk.

You'll find that not all users of the internet are from North America.
This is a Eurasian Sparrowhawk filmed in NE England.
