  • Pat Boone was the scourge of the music business. This rendition of Tutti Frutti is so pitiful that it hurts to listen to it. The person who said that Little Richard stole this song from Pat is totally clueless about the history of music.

  • @bradentonguy50 Pat Boone was singing very well. His voice was fantastic. Little Richard sang before this song, but this does not mean that Pat Boone sings fatal this song. He was a great singer. All his songs are wonderful. In addition, Pat Boone helped Little Richard when Pat sang 'Tutti Frutti', or not? It is necessary to recognize it.

    I love this version.

  • @acr08807 But its been stated multiple times, even by Pat Boone, that the producers forced him to do a cover of Tutti Frutti. Elvis did a cover as well. The purpose for it was during that time with segregation in America, white Americans liked the song but worried about being judged for playing a black man's song. Also at that time, cover's of originals were done all the time with no need for permission or credit. It's just the way it was done back then.

  • @monpetitciel, agree with most of what you said until you suggested that Pat Boone helped Little Richard. In absolutely no way did Boone help Little Richard by singing "Tutti Frutti". Most artists were subject to very poor recording deals back then and did not receive royalties for having their song taken over by someone else. That's why there were so many "covers" produced. There was no added attention to LR's version either. There's a reason why Boone's was released to begin with.

  • @bradentonguy50 I disagree. In the 1950's few black artists were signed to major labels.

Few stations played R and B or Rock and Roll. So most of America was not exposed to black artists. Pat Boone covering these tunes introduced this material as bad as it was to most of America at the time. It resulted in many people following up on the writer and eventually the original performer. And eventually seek out and buy the original.

  • @bradentonguy50 Looks like you are jealous of Pat.

  • @bradentonguy50 I do like this version, go looking for critters under a rock

  • oh dear God

    Pat baby STOP

He has a very nice voice not hating cause I do like Pat boon but the man SHOULD never sing a Black person's song

We overpower the voice all the time

  • @bradentonguy50 Little Richard sucked. Pat's plain vanilla cover is INFINITELY better than the original.

  • This song bout butt sex.

  • Billboard Apr 7, 1956

Billboard’s Top 100 from March listed Pat Boone’s “I’ll Be Home” with “Tutti Fruiti” as #15, and Little Richard’s "Tutti Fuiti" at #84. [page 36]

  • This song is meant to be raucus and rebellious, it sounds bad sung cleanly.

  • This is really heinous. The question is not why so many dislikes, but how anyone could click "Like".
