The health natural products seem to dominate today's markets and they are popular among both Thais and foreign customers. We went to visit one of the local herbal soap product manufacturers. They are health-friendly and chemical free. Let's get to know more:
These great varieties of different colors of spa herbal soaps wrapped in different packaging are locally produced products in Rawai, Phuket, but with international export standards. They are natural products invented by a group of Phuket natives led by Natchanan Yodkham, who along with her colleagues realized the value of local herbs, and processed them into health products like soaps. The main idea she stressed is to let nature take care of our bodies instead of chemical ingredients in modern products. "We focus on herbal ingredients. Today when we just get up we face chemical stuff already. What we do is when we get up and wash our faces we can use natural products. We now even expand into producing bio-organic washing liquid extracted from pineapple, limes and kaffirs." The temporary economic slow down after the tsunami gave them more time to explore, experiment and invent even more varieties of natural products. Their tireless efforts and determination resulted in many attractive and top quality herbal spa soaps with many essences including aloe, Turmeric, carrot, and radish. With all these herbal products, each has its uniqueness in treatment. The group then applied Phuket locality and outstanding characters of beach side resorts in their products. Here come the fancy soaps with shapes of marine creatures: "The fancy soap relates the products to the ocean as we are in Phuket. We produce in shapes of shrimps, mussels, crabs and fish, making it look like they are swimming. Our soaps are made in natural colors. We would not add any colors unless our clients demand to add a little bit." The group's present clients are hotels and spa facilities plus the overseas markets like Japan and Sweden.
