HOLY SHIT!!! I remember seeing this one when I was like 5-6 years old! I remember seeing the old man disappearing, and seeing the woman in that castle thing. I've been searching for this since 93-94.

@VitoPossilipo bugged that "Star Wars" is almost completely burrowed by other movies what George Lucas even admits (whole scenes had been copied from particular westerns, war movies and documental World War II-footage). And it was also inspired by several myths, the novel "Dune", books by Isaak Asimov, the New God´s comics and the movie "Silent Running" (R2D2).

But agreed: I also find it strange and different. I´ve never seen things like the glaive, Rell´s trident or the slayers (especially the way they die) before or after. But anyway, many critics reproach to it that it is generic and burrowed heavily from other movies. For example "The Wizard of Oz" (!). For me the only similarities are that in both movies the word "emerald" is said and that in both different characters form a party for a quest.

@inphasesith No harm meant, but this movie doesn´t take place in middle ages... at least not in Earth´s middle ages but on another planet or was that what you´ve meant? But can one speak of the middle ages, then? Who knows how the future of the planet Krull looks? Besides, "middle ages" is as far know a relatively term because it refers to the centuries after Christ, from the year one to the respectively "present."

I love this movie, especially this scene in the swamp. For me it´s a creepy "boy´s adventure" ("boy" not meant homosexually).

This is why I love Krull its strange and different but makes sense aliens can visit at anytime even in the middle ages.

@ChalkyNuts What do you find crappy about this?
-
@louiev2000 Well, for kids it is pretty scary. But on the other hand I´ve seen it several times as a kid and it was a, despite scary, magig event.

0:34 is one of the few moments in fantasy movies when the bad guys are seriously outnumbered, just to be killed without mercy by the heroes.
I love it.

Remakes aren't so bad if they are done correctly. Can you imagine this film using modern effects?.
