One of the most striking, most evocative pieces of art I've ever seen. The images fit the hypnotic, almost transcendant melody perfectly. Love the entire project, but this song reached out & grabbed me the first time & never let go. I could put it on a loop & just let it run. Whether string quartet, hardrock/metal, accoustic guitar, solo piano, drum circle, jazz combo, choir or in this case something electronic: it's not the medium, it's the artist and what they create in it that matters. Peace

Still awesome after 15+ years... this and 'Seeds of Life' really grabbed my youthful attention. Reminds me of simple eighth grade pursuits, like staying up all night and playing Final Fantasy VI. The good old days.

There's something also very "adult" about this piece. I think it has largely to do with the music. Very "un-YTV" like.

That cigarette in an ashtray at 2:26 would not be shown on YTV today, that's for sure.

I still remember every single note of this song.

I actually was born in '92. So I remember this vividly at best. Regardless, these clips and the music they used by Jan Hammer has totally influenced my way of life. A true temperant. Now, mainly only listen to artists in the 20th century (with a few exceptions) and watch many television shows around that time. I want to thank the YTV crew (the staff that was involved in the early 90's that is) for this because just maybe I would have ended up like all my siblings who are just stupid and typical

Remembering seeing these when I was 5-8. 15 years later..this is still amazing, and so much better than what we see on tv nowadays.

If you were born in the 70's, grew up in the 80's and got stoned in the 90's, this video is, and always shall be, your friend.

haha! I'm doing animation at college, but god this shit is trippy as fuck

Why is a Piet Mondrian painting labeled as a Roy Lichtenstein at the end of the video ??!!

@the1stmrspops Same here. Miss that Channel greatly. Thank God for DVD's though. Love this music and for some reason this song especially.
Anyone know if this ever came out on DVD? All I've got is my original VHS which thank God is still in good shape.

@redfishradical Beyond the Mind's Eye was the first in the series to be released on DVD. As far as I can tell it appears to be a simple digital transfer of the laserdisc release.
