U can buy these keys online for about 2 bucks each if you don't have any spares to file down. You can get them at superbumpkeys. Com and I last time I checked they only cost about 2 bucks.

that was a Schlage lock and most doors in America use Kwickset locks so you can not open "any" door

What type of lock was that? Was it a Medeco lock? And does doing this damage the cylinders??

You have to find a key that will fit into the lock but dosnt turn. then you file it down to a certan point. The key is no good to doors it wont fit into...

most schlage and kwikset house keys are 5 pin locks so the same key usually works on both types. Although your're right that it won't open 100% of locks my schlage bump key works on my kwikset locks and viseversa

your gonna ruin your door and the bumpkey if you keep y=using a hammer ive done it before, my suggestion would be to use a metal butterknife hit the bumpkey with the handle works great for me

thanks for the advice... I'm thinking about buying a offical bup key and the thing to hit it with. Have you ever tried one?
