You make a great point, the pendulum in a quartz clock serves no purpose at the time part of the clock is regulated by the quartz mechanism not the pedulum. In modern day, it is not necessary and therefore we have styles without a pendulum as well. Or you could remove the pendulum from the Savannah as the pendulum in a quartz does not regulate the time.

I simply don't understand many so called modern clocks. First of all. What's the purpose of a pendulum on a modern quartz clock? On a new quartz driven old style it's of course to look like an old clock. Secondly especially many "modern" styles are ridiculous huge compared to their dial / hand size. Like the clock function is something secondary. As that isn't bad enough on many of them it's impossible to tell the time accurate to the minute due to odd shapes and "missing" or vague markers.
