Inspired by various audiovisual cut-up artists such as Hexstatic and Bubble-B,
I teamed up with my friend Lee Thompson ( http://jp.youtube.com/user/ltmusicproduction ) on this video mashup extraordinare for our final year collaborative project at uni. The music was really fun to make but the video production had us crying at Adobe Premiere at times whilst it only accepted short downloaded .flvs once they had been bloated to the size of several gigabytes.

Either way, feast your eyes at a highly inadvisable concoction of oldskool video gaming, ninjas, pirates, penguins, dubstep, acid, jungle and breakcore!

Tracklist:
1. Beats of Rage
2. Pirate Material
3. Dead Men Tell No Tales
4. Super Sharp Sailor
5. Pingu! Stop It, And Tidy Up

Audio/video samples credits list:
Captain Pugwash
Lazytown
Muppet Treasure Island
Ninja Terminator
Peter Pan
Pingu
Pirates of The Caribbean ("What ARE you doing?")
Stoppit & Tidyup
Pirates Of The Sea - Wolves of The Sea (Clips of camp pirate dancing shenanigans)
Streets of Rage 2
The Streets - Has It Come To This? ("Original pirate material" sample)
Treasure Island
What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor (taken from a Sea Shanties album released in Malta)

Extended versions of the tracks featured in the mix are coming soon!

  • Streets of Rage was such a good game. I bought it for the arcade games on Xbox live and sadly, no one plays it =/

  • They were great! Especially the music; really ravey despite the Genesis/Mega Drive's primitive sound chip. My favourite was the 2nd one (where this footage came from).

  • HA! this was so much fun to make! we never did find out what to do with that drunken sailor tho, hes still tied up in my room!

  • We'll think of something, don't worry.

  • Loved it all the way thru!!! Was that Chilly Willy's cousin? LOL

  • nice crazy stuff! 1st part reminded me of oldschool techno&sample madness...last bit (pingu) could very well be a tribute to t+pazolite :)

and good work on the video editing too!

  • o.O Streets of Rage 2.... Still by far one of my favorite games. Audio was extremely entertaining for my earholes.
