This is a fan made video of the song "Thousand years of oppression" by Amon Amarth, using some images.

// Here the lyrics:

**Amon Amarth**
*Thousand years of oppression*

He hung on the windswept world tree
Whose roots no one knows
For nine whole days he hung there pierced
By Gugnir, his spear;
Swimming in pain he peered into the depths
And cried out in agony
Reaching out he grasped the runes
Before falling back from the abyss
He gave himself unto himself
In a world of sheering pain
So that we all may live our lives
By the wisdom that he gained

You doubted him, and spread their lies
Across the world, with sword in hand
You raped our souls, and stole our right
All for the words of mild-mannered man
You listened to mild-mannered god
And put your faith in deceitful words
Your powertrip was paid by blood
In kidness' name you spilled our blood

I refuse to submit
To the god you say is kind
I know what's right, and it is time
It's time to fight, and free our minds

Let me die without fear!
As I have lived without it
So shut your mouth and spare my ears
I'm fed up with all your bullshit
After a thousand years of opression
Let the berserks rise again
Let the world hear these words once more:
"Save us, oh lord, from the wrath of the Norseman"

Let the world hear these words once more:
"Save us, oh lord, from the wrath of the Norseman"

Our spritis were forged in snow and ice
To bend like steel forged over fire
We were not made to bend like reed
Or turn the other cheek
He grasped the runes, they're ours to use

  • I agree, I might not agree with the Norse Religion (at the end of the day, that's what it is) but when I learn about these religions in school, we think of them as inferior beliefs, and ones not to be takes seriously. It's completely stupid and unfair.

  • any religion is good, but it is the institution that is evil, every man should be a church for himself.

it is evil to try and show other people how your fate is better or how some1 else's faith is bad.

people shuld belive in whatever they want but never try to opress others with their fate. that is why paganism isthe purest way. pagans allways lived pure and never tried to put their fate upon others as monotheistic religions do.

hail pagan bretheren hail oden and thor!

  • @boondocks128 I'm proud as well. altough, I'm not swedis, nor scandanavian. I have nothing to do with vikings and so on. still I like it. well, could say I love it... I found this scandanavian mythology beautiful...

  • Im proud of being a Dane and descended from the mighty vikings.

I am an asator and im proud of calling myself: A son of Odin!

Schools call old religions like norse mythologi inferior, but i disagree, i believe in religious freedom.

  • Amazing video, well done man. This is brilliant!

  • @donar88 you are correct..... we live the result of those deeds done long ago .. on a daily basis ... and the church/xianity has pursued this course for centuries , to dumb down people and to profit from them

  • @McSanj11

In my opinion it's a more beautifull story than the christian one, and to be honest it wasn't realy a religion because all scandinavians were free to believe what they wanted as opposed to when christianity got hold there.

  • My ancestors were the toe-cutters of Kurland. Sweden's just a few miles accross the sea, so.. Hail, brothas!

  • O yeah

  • 2 people are oppressors

  • 2 people got they're eyes blown out from the rock
