2 years 10 months in the making, spread out on 4 systems running 24/7.
It isn't that much work for me, I just write the script, feed it to the computer(s),
and let them cruise. They like it!
Makes a nice night show in my main room while the images are rendering;
near the end they take 30 hours each.
And this is the last deep Mandelbrot dive I will ever do - time to move on to other things.
This is a dive to a final depth of 10^112.
Enjoy!

  • Could you please upload some .mov files to your website for download?

  • @killcritter I think that's a MAC or QuickTime format; I don't know what software to use or even if I have it. All my videos are WMV (MPEG4) format, a few are AVI. They should all play on any current windows machine.

  • Yes it is a Quicktime format that is compatible with MAC, which is what I use. I do not have windows and was thinking it may be easier for you to save the files for MAC compatible versus me downloading a new operating system or program to run WMV files.

  • @killcritter Sorry I can't really do that. But there are many video file format converters out there. Some free, some pay. Try to find one on the web. Start with this:

    find(dot)pcworld(dot)com/70967, the hamster free video converter.

  • @yukatanDX Go for it! Let me know how the film works out. You can download a higher-res version of this from the UFVP website. Check out the other vids while you are at it.
