Deus Ex (2000) was widely praised for its melodious and ambient music which incorporates a number of genres, such as classical, jazz, and techno.

The soundtrack of Deus Ex was extolled by critics for aptly complementing the gritty and haunting atmosphere predominant throughout the game.

All listed tracks were composed by Alexander Brandon, Dan Gardopee, Michiel van den Bos and Reeves Gabrels. A compact disc of the Deus Ex soundtrack was only included in the "Game of the Year" edition and is not available for separate purchase, but all tracks are readily available on the internet. Originally only thirty tracks were included with the re-release, with tracks thirty-one through forty-one considered as extras.

During play, the music will change to a different iteration of the current song based on the player's actions. For instance, this usually occurs when the player starts a conversation, engages in combat, or transitions to the next level.

  • This tune makes me wanna raid their HQ again!

  • @AndyMcNabStab already have: Human Revolution and a gargantuan shitload of other games

  • I hate the MIB that is walking around this area

  • @Te4RHyP3 It can be a harsh game to be honest, easy to miss some stuff if you are playing it just like any other FPS and I can't praise the narrative technique used.

  • @AndyMcNabStab to be fair when i was playing through this as a kid, i never thought "wow i'm playing art" or something. It was just a game - but it wasn't until years later that I realized how many little things could relate to my life and it became something that grew with me, similar to a good song. That's the art imo

as for putting soul back in... give it time

  • @ccrackodile I am not really sure. That is a very good question. On one hand, Ava's appearance makes Jock's survival unnecessary. On the other hand, Paul survived until the next game and the developers may have wanted JC to be a "super agent" who could save everyone. Maybe we will find out in a future DX game (in another 5-10 years hahaha).

  • @MrTrollzama smuggler takes too much effort to save anyway, i also read on the wiki that ava from iw picks you up at area 51, so jock really is dead i suppose?

  • @Felfury First time I heard Daedlus' voice I shivered all over. Atmosphere is everything
